Description

Part of the sage brush steppe, this fossil site offers rolling hills for hiking, hunting, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, photography, and dispersed camping. Motorized use is limited to designated roads.

Directions

• From Newcastle: Take US Interstate 85 South for 59.2 miles. Then take a right onto WY-270 S for about 15 miles. BLM Lance Creek will be on either side of the road. • From Douglas: Take I-25 South for 9 miles. Then take the US-18/US-20 exit toward Lusk and turn left onto the US-18 East highway for 32.7 miles. Turn left onto WY-270 for 18.3 miles until you reach Lance Creek.
