Description

This small, primitive day use area serves as a minimalist boat launch/take-out location for boaters and fishers on the Deschutes Wild and Scenic River.

Know Before You Go

  • Nena Day Use Area is open for day use year-round; camping is prohibited.
  • Except for a primitive boat launch, there are no facilities here. There is no cell service here.
  • Lower Deschutes Boater Passes are required year-round, for both day and overnight use, for anyone using a watercraft or any other floating device as a means of transport on the Lower Deschutes River.
  • In the Deschutes River corridor, campfires and smoking are allowed only from October 16 through May 31, annually, unless posted otherwise.

Directions

From City Park in Maupin, Oregon: Drive south via BLM Access Rd/Deschutes River Rd for 6.8 miles; the recreation site is on the right side of the road.
