Description

Overview

Ollokot Campground is located in an old growth ponderosa pine forest along the Wild and Scenic Imnaha River. As a favorite weekend 'get away' or summer destination site, the area remains popular for those wanting to fish, pick berries, take day hikes, or explore along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway. The campground has 13 campsites, some of which are accessible. The campground also has a well for drinking water and vault toilets.

Primary use season is June to September.

Quiet hours are 10pm to 6 am.

Ollokot CG has 13 sites all of which have picnic table, fire rings and parking areas.

Directions

From Enterprise, Oregon travel south on Oregon State 82 to Joseph for about 6.5 miles; In Joseph turn left on Oregon State 350 and go about 8 miles to the Wallowa Loop Road; Turn right on the Wallowa Loop Road (also known as the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway) and travel on this road which eventually becomes Forest Road 39 for 31 miles; Campground entrance is on the left near the Imnaha River.

From Halfway, Oregon head east out of town for 1 mile on Record Road to Highway 86; Once on Highway 86 go 9 miles to Wallowa Loop Road (also known as Forest Road 39 and Hells Canyon Scenic Byway) towards Enterprise and Joseph; Turn left on the Wallowa Loop Road/Forest Road 39 and travel about 23 miles to campground; Campground entrance is signed on right before the Imnaha River crossing.

Advisory: The Hells Canyon Scenic Byway is usually closed by snow from late October through late May or early June and is not passable with motor vehicles.

The discount applies only to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass holder, not to any additional fee or campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass holder's party. https://store.usgs.gov/recreational-passes Please be prepared to pay with CASH or CHECK. Single unit campsites = $15.00/night. A self-service fee station is located at the campground.
