Description
Overview
Located 40 minutes south of Silver Lake, Oregon, East Bay is a desirable campground located at the base of Hager Mountain on the scenic Thompson Reservoir. Enjoy gorgeous views of the mountain and shady campsites thanks to the ponderosa pines and aspens.
Eighteen spacious campsites accommodate tent and RV camping. Amenities include picnic tables, fire rings, potable water, and three vault toilets. East Bay is a popular campground with hunters every fall.
East Bay Campground has convenient access to the hiker trail that leads to the summit of Hager Mountain, about 4 miles one way.
Besides hiking, East Bay offers excellent fishing and boating opportunities on Thompson Reservoir. There is no dock at the present time but boaters can easily back their boat down the ramp into the water. Thompson Reservoir is stocked with rainbow trout on an annual basis.
Recreation
Recreation opportunities in the area include picnicking, flatwater water activities, fishing, hiking, bird watching, nature viewing. The National Recreation Trail #160 is within close proximity to the Campground.

Directions
East Bay Campground is located 30 minutes south of Silver Lake, Oregon. From Silver Lake take Oregon Highway 31 west for less than a half mile and then turn left onto County Highway 4-12 (also known as East Bay Road). County Highway 4-12 will become Forest Service (FS) Road 28. Continue on FS Road 28 and take a right on FS Road 014. East Bay Campground will be at the end of the road beside Thompson Reservoir.
